Thistle Housing – The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing but the Lies!

since 30th November 2016 when “all of the works to all of the houses in Toryglen will be complete“. Today, 25th June 2019, still incomplete, work proven to be shoddy and more importantly, dangerous

Thistle’s Major Works Programme. Residents ignored. Residents never consulted. Residents constantly lied to.

The dangerous and faulty chimneys reported to Thistle in September 2016, ignored by Grace McColgan, Thistle’s Director and Daniella Sprott, (the now previously mis-titled) Operations Manager, both of whom responsible for all things Thistle, together with the shady bookkeeper, Jim Naismith and Brenda Wilson the always on the committee,  unelected chairperson, all of whom refuse to accept any responsibility for the profound utter failures of Thistle Housing’s management, not only in connection with the failed Major Works Programme but for many years before and since. Think about it – none of them rents or owns a property in Toryglen therefore any ruse they come up with has absolutely no impact on them.

The review identified serious and wide-ranging compliance failures across all six standards. Thistle is also failing to meet the Scottish Social Housing Charter in relation to the communications standards landlords need to deliver for tenants and other customers.

That is the very reason the Scottish Housing Regulator marched into Thistle’s office last August at the behest of Toryglen residents and, of course, still there, as the mismanagement of Toryglen residents’ association has been proven to be so incapably amateur and not fit for purpose.

They did carry out a skills assessment of the members of the management committee. Each one scored 4 out of 5. Well done but as there is no context, no  clue as to the reach and depth of this assessment, it has no value. Oh, nearly missed out a wee fact – who carried out the so-called assessment of the management committee? The committee assessed itself. You really just couldn’t make this stuff up!

Residents reported the chimneys and the roofs. Both now proven to be faulty so, thus far, Residents 2 Thistle Management 0.

Never mind the lies, double standards, gross mismanagement and self interest within Thistle Fort,  the reactionary, utterly failed and self serving management of Thistle Housing and their slavish pals in the proven uneducated and incapable management committee, are part of yet another complaint to Police Scotland that this blog site is “sectarian“.

Why would that be? Read this. Simple deflection or could it be that they are afraid that the gross nepotism actively utilised within the Thistle hierarchy might be discovered by the Toryglen hoi polloi? Or is it just a cheap and desperate side issue in a vain attempt to mask the gross failures of an inept management noted for diversion and digression.

Unlike, as it seems, the  chairperson, unelected by shareholders of Thistle Housing Association Limited* and a long term DWP benefit claimant, now residing with her partner and herself with the local Roman Catholic priest in the large chapel house in Prospecthill Drive. The upshot to that, and the only reason for its mention, is that the said chairperson can effect any decision, in any fashion, at  any cost which will have absolutely no impact on her or her chosen living accommodations.

*Limited – Thistle Housing Association Limited. It’s NOT Limited. That’s yet another lie, one of the many discovered by Toryglen residents. Thistle trading under a false name.  Issuing bills to residents under a false name. Just adding to the ever increasing lies adopted by McColgan, the director responsible for all things Thistle and paid an undeserved annual package of around £90,000 each and every year (including the many months when she was ‘sick’, in a vain attempt to hide from the truth of her failures).

Mind you, her sidekick, Ms Sprott, is now the recipient of a new mouth slabbering, made up job title. No longer Operations Manager (that was a lie) but now, apparently, actually reflecting her true abilities in pencil sharpening.

Have the failures in Thistle’s management been reflected in their interesting salary scales? Don’t think so.

Of course, that’s before both of them are kicked out of the door together with the incapable book keeper, Jim Naismith and all of their pals in the management committee.

The above is fact. Simple and unequivocal.  Then again, Thistle Housing hates the truth. Sectarian? A cheap, desperate ploy to mask gross failures. Oh look, another squirrel!

There are other worrying issues reported to Thistle and constantly ignored, such as the faulty so-called window sills, the cracking and discolouring roughcast, the misaligned gutters dismissed by Miss Sprott as “only asthetic” , the increasing reports of dampness (caused by the Rockwool insulation having been soaked by rainwater from the poorly installed roofs/gutters?).

All this as Toryglen residents have continued to research the multitude of problems and absolutely refused to listen to the lies and stories from Thistle’s failed management.

Now there is a possible asbestos problem in attics.

DELIBERATE, MANIPULATING LIARS. THE THISTLE WAY
Attics. Where there are water tanks with lids askew. Possibly tainted water being fed into unsuspecting residents’ homes to mothers, fathers, children, babies, pets, auld grannies. Everyone. Asbestos contamination normally doesn’t make its fatal results known for decades, hence it is so vital that any possible contamination is immediately and properly dealt with.

McColgan and Sprott deny any threat to health. Their opinions based on absolutely no knowledge at all. Except for their money grabbing survival, that is. Mind you, they deny anything which encroaches on their fatcat, undeserved salary packages. Lying to them is like taking breath. So natural. In the case of Thistle’s polluted management, conveniently par for the course over the past eighteen years and more.

THISTLE’S CORRUPT MANAGEMENT IGNORES RESIDENTS’ FEARS
Residents wrote to Grace McColgan in December 2017, detailing their fears (amongst others) that there may be asbestos in attics. McColgan ignored the communications but Miss Sprott declared that there was no problem and that the isolated incident was due to “gas fires” found in an attic.

Strangely enough, when residents in another close in Toryglen received their recent Thistle bill, there was an item referring to the removal of asbestos panels and a charge levied for the removal of same. Thistle were questioned, only to be told that the asbestos removal on their bill was due to, yes, “GAS FIRES“.

It was later revealed that the fable of the gas fires came from Miss Sprott who directed a Thistle staff member to issue this lie to residents.

It would seem that flats in Toryglen have come, inbuilt, with a secret supply of “gas fires” dumped in attics some sixty and more years ago when the blocks were built.

Ah, but Miss Sprott and McColgan conveniently miss out the fact that asbestos was detected by Health and Safety Executive engineers who visited the earliest Major Works Programme site in June 2016. Thistle were advised …..and did nothing. When subsequently questioned by residents, they denied the existence of asbestos. Why? Simple. No survey had been done of properties prior to the Major Works Programme. No architect plans or drawings had been commissioned. Indeed, there had been no professional approach at all. Just simple ‘on the back of a fag packet’ arrangement.

Believable?

For example, Toryglen residents have been charged for water tank tests which have never been carried out and should never have been charged for in the first place. FOR YEARS. Some residents have been offered a refund by Thistle Housing. Does this maybe also refer to you?

Thistle Housing’s management and completely incapable, never changing management committee, scrabbling to blame everyone and anybody but themselves.
