since 30th November 2016 when “all of the works to all of the houses in Toryglen will be complete“. Today, Saturday 8th February 2020, still incomplete, work proven to be shoddy and more importantly, dangerous and now possibly hazardous to life and limb …and now Thistle is demanding payment from owners for substandard, incomplete and dangerous work.
Thistle Housing grasping so called ‘managers’ and their idiot level drones wonder why they have been correctly deemed as incapable.
Thistle Housing and its malignant cabal of self interested illiterate liars all of whom are shortly to be consigned to the bin
Next week, it is understood, there will be an announcement to all Toryglen residents regarding the failure of Thistle and the subsequent takeover by one of the three interested parties.

Thistle’s barely literate pensioner, ‘gies the loot’ pretendy director Bob McGuire, with little to no online presence in any field (other than his hundred quid ‘off the shelf’ company) now portrays
his grandstanding and manipulative triumph before the soon to be dumped (by him) incapable Thistle Housing staff, now possibly consigned to Universal Credit. Oh well, that’s what they get for being stupid when they had the chance to spill the beans and help Toryglen residents do the right thing. They didn’t. Their work record is crap, their reputation dreadful, slated by the Scottish Housing Regulator. Basically, unemployable. TUPE? Like that’ll work out really well but best of luck.
Jings, bit of a shame as if they had only told the truth and hadn’t followed the trail of lies inculcated by Thistle’s indulgent and bullying management, the association, as it was supposed to be managed in the locality, by local people, for the benefit of local people, sort of, was poisoned by the selfish interests of the pugnacious and profoundly mendacious Miss Sprott, the massively disGraced McColgan, an occasional reference to the bullied Jim Naismith the ‘dae as yer telt’ financially emasculated bookkeeper, the well manipulated all pals management committee heralded by Brenda Wilson and her spooky sidekick, Patrick Cannon, another serial committee member.
What a reference that must be for shareholders of Thistle Housing Association and customers. Refer to the Scottish Housing Regulator for more info.
It is assumed that whoever tries to pump some decency into the horrid, self seeking faecal mess of Thistle, has some semblance of decency and understanding of a failed and crumbling housing estate which, over its almost seventy years’ history has been ignored and shoved to the sidelines exacerbated by the nineteen years of the Gorbals based Thistle Housing which has done nothing in Toryglen other than directed by government.
Back yards, gardens, walls, streets, fly tipping, manky closes, the entire environment left to rot whilst the inarticulate and illiterate in Thistle Fort have been afforded free range.
The previous incumbent, disGrace McColgan, the long term failure who guided Thistle Housing into darkness and a mismanagement failure, paid the price. When one is inculcated with responsibility (and in her incapable case), one has to submit to the sword. Mind you, Grace faked so many months of convenient ‘illness’ at around £7,000 a pop that she was so ill that it didn’t stop her from purchasing a Mercedes limousine to park outside her palatial pad in the best leafy part of Kings Park.
But, she’s now gone with a substantial multi hundred thousand pound pension payoff of which few of her peasant supporters in Toryglen could ever dream.
Then there’s the real reason, cause and manipulative failure. Daniella Sprott. She manipulated, fingered, sashayed, licked, moved and maybe used other defiled methods to arrange disGrace to her final end. Yes, Grace was paid to be responsible, not that she ever accepted any responsibility but she sure ended up carrying the can, a can forced upon her by Miss Sprott who was desperate to maintain her hold on Thistle and continue to bully residents as well as staff.
In all of these cases of failure, in all of these circumstances of very long term management shortfalls, no longer. These failures must be consigned to history and a history to be quickly forgotten The accused hate to be named but Toryglen residents know exactly who brought the association into disrepute. Other than their elderly same flag waving supporters who they ply with bus runs and sherry bingo parties. Shove a bit of sherry into the auld yins and they’ll tick anything.
Apparently, being a shareholder of Thistle Housing Association Limited provides absolutely no benefit whatsoever, as it is understood that all Toryglen residents will have an input into the ballot regarding Thistle’s new way. That being the case the shareholder situation was and is no more than a scam, manipulated by the usual culprits. Whatever happens in the next few weeks, it seems appropriate that these Toryglen residents who, over the nineteen years of Thistle’s mismanagement of the Toryglen estate, have a direct input into its future . All that was ever required was a signature on a form and the expense of a quid, a pound (20/- if you like – for the oldies of which there are many in Toryglen). Everyone who had the least modicum of interest in the association could join and, indeed, should have.
In many respects, that’s why Thistle is an end of life terminal case as too many in 
Toryglen didn’t bother. For the lack of a pound and a shareholding.
Over the past three years of collecting information, photographs, emails, letters and powerful opinion, this wee blog site has a wealth of information, written, visual and audio detailing the performance (or, as it is, lack thereof) crass selfish and tribal management jammed behind the barricaded windows of Thistle Fort.
More comment later and there’s lots of that but for so many reasons, much of the information this site has gathered over the years, the majority of which has been retained “just in case” must be for another place and time.
If you have got this far down, bear in mind that nothing, absolutely nothing has been completed, fixed, repaired or sorted.
The chimneys are still dangerous, the roofs are an accident waiting to happen (again), the attics are festooned with cancer inducing asbestos, the EWI (external wall insulation) in many cases, is sodden with rainwater which is causing dampness in flats, especially in third and second floor homes. The sub standard window sills have yet to be examined and …
….oh, you know the score.
Despite promises from the incumbent and temporary director, questions, solutions and answers remain with neither explanation nor answer.
More than three years later, why is there no resolve, why is there no resolution from Toryglen’s political overseers, as in Nicola Sturgeon, MSP, First Minister of Scotland and Susan Aitken, Councillor, Leader of Glasgow City Council.
It was previously commented in the media that Toryglen ‘s people were fantastically fortunate that they had the two most profoundly important politicos representing their home area.
Not exactly worked out too well, has it?
What have the local MSP and local councillor achieved, what have they done to alleviate the horrors of the manipulative lies of a structurally failed housing association?
Stick that one on a stamp and post it to Nicola. Or better still, the useless and not greatly articulate Susan Aitken, councillor for Toryglen who seems to have problems responding to emails but excels at being a to complete waste of space, only slightly more than an arse wipe. Really folks, given the history of utter neglect of Toryglen by Glasgow Corporation and down to the present Glasgow City Council, one would have thought that Susan Aitken, the local councillor, might have effected a positive policy of and for Toryglen. After all, on being elected, she did announce that the governing party in the City Chambers would be examining the books and exposing decades of corruption. That didn’t happen.
Alas, Susan Aitken has done nothing.
Susan might wish to reiterate her grand plans or, like most politicos, only appears immediately prior to a poll date where next time, Toryglen voters may not be so enthusiastic in sticking their X against her name.
Ms Sturgeon MSP might want to ponder that one too.
These two have to increase their efforts and, more importantly, ensure that what they have done and are doing is seen and clearly obvious to their Toryglen electorate.
