Roof Tiles Keep Falling On Our Heads

1,595 DAYS – FOUR YEARS + 4 MONTHS + 14 DAYS
since Thistle’s mismanaged Major Works Programme started on 7th January 2016
1,267 DAYS – THREE YEARS + 5 MONTHS + 20 DAYS
since 30th November 2016 when “all of the works to all of the houses in Toryglen will be complete“. Today, Wednesday, 20th May 2020, still incomplete, work proven to be shoddy and more importantly, dangerous and now possibly hazardous to life and limb with millions of pounds required for rectification work. Thistle Housing has hardly lifted a finger to rectify their misdeeds

Yet more items falling from roofs in Toryglen. Roofs which have been proven to be faulty and dangerous, all of which require to be rebuilt.

What has Thistle Housing done since April 2019 when roofs started shedding tiles? Nothing other than prevaricate, lie and use their only talent of diversion. Thistle, its discredited management and its incapable employees just hate the truth.

Why are these proven incompetents still drawing their grossly undeserved salaries?

The above was yesterday morning, Tuesday 20th May 2020. The dangerous roof situation has not been attended to by Thistle.

This morning, a different block, a different roof, another tile vent crashes to the ground from the proven faulty and dangerous roofs

This morning and only two closes away, from a different block and a different roof, another roof vent plummeted to earth, swiftly removed by a Sanctuary Housing manager for “measurement purposes”. In other words, to hide the evidence. Too late, all photographed.

One wonders, however, why Sanctuary personnel seem to be doing the work Thistle staff are paid to do. Not that they ever have, mind you but the question arises, as Sanctuary have not yet taken over Thistle – who is paying for Sanctuary staff as it is doubtful they are zooming around Toryglen for free?

It is understood that Patricia Cahill, the head of Sanctuary Housing in Scotland, is the acting director of Thistle Housing. It is assumed that she is acting on her own remit and is being either paid a personal fee or Sanctuary invoices Thistle for the work done. Yet another situation which remains blurry but what the hell, it’s only Toryglen residents’ money. Spend away!
